Laramie Man Gets 10 Years After Child Porn Found on Phone
A 55-year-old Laramie man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after hundreds of images of child pornography were found on his phone.
CyberTip Leads to Prison Time for Laramie Man
According to the United States Attorney's Office, on June 25, 2023, law enforcement received a CyberTip from a provider of cloud-based services regarding the user of a Verizon phone with a Wyoming number that traced back to Ricky Lee Smith, who is a registered sex offender.
Investigators served a search warrant at Smith’s home and found more than 750 images of child pornography on his phone.

Smith was indicted in November 2023 and pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography in January 2024.
He will be subject to five years of supervised release once he's released from prison.
